With thanks to the vision of architects Morris Nunn and Associates, we are truly privileged to be involved with the breathtaking transformation of a historically-sensitive site, such as this. In doing so we have created a luxurious and innovative way to engage with not only our cultural heritage but also connect with contemporary culture through modern Tasmanian works of art.
With the sites history dating back to 1804, Lieutenant-Governor Collins landing just footsteps from the front of the hotels main entrance, housing one of the nations largest private company’s and a brand still known today as H. Jones & Co. Pty IXL Jams, and becoming Australia’s first dedicated art hotel, the hotels history and its story is captivating.
The hotel houses over 300 original and contemporary works of art which are exhibited throughout the property. These works showcase Tasmania’s leading and emerging artists, most of which are for sale for guests to acquire a souvenir of the most unique kind.
