His creations draw inspiration from the vibrant tapestry of popular and commercial culture found in both Western and Asian societies. Having lived in Hong Kong for 13 years, he has developed a unique blend of modernist pop.
Phil’s artistic journey has been closely intertwined with the iconic symbol of the ‘Dog’ for over 30 years. Originally, it started as a series of social contemporaries on Australian suburbia in the late 1980’s. Today the Dog has become a hallmark of Phil’s artistry, instantly recognisable and imbued with his signature style.
Phil has dedicated 18 years to the surf industry, a valued artist and designer for Rip Curl and Quicksilver.
With a career spanning decades, he continues to captivate audiences with his art. His works showcases his comprehension of Modernism and pop Art, while also honouring the varied cultural influences that shape our world.
